New Piercing!

Hey everyone :)

I am aware it has been a lengthy period of time since I blogged last and I apologise.
I also apologise that this is not going to be a long blog... at all...
I have my my dissertation due in Jan 6th, so after then I shall be much more frequent!

This is just a little blog to say... Look at my new piercing!
Do you like?! (It's the one in my cartilage by the way hehe)
I was getting it done after my last day at my work, as I'm finishing there after 6 1/2 years, my boss' paid for it for me! Score!!
I love it, it's a bit sore after I've just cleaned it (it bled again).
The guy did it with a needle, and he said my cartilage was really thick, it took him a while to get it through ha just my luck!

Anyway, hope you love as much as me,
Hope you had an amazing Christmas.
Lots of Love,

Christmas Wish List :)

Hi Everyone :)

This post is going to seem really materialistic to some people, but I always think it's just fun to make a 'wishlist' of things, if money was no object, what I would like from Father Christmas this year. Really most of my things aren't overly expensive individually, but put them all together and it would be one expensive Christmas!!

So let's get going.....

The Naked 2 Palette! Although it is not being released in the UK until mid-January :( I love love love my other Naked palette, and although I use that every day,  I wouldn't mind bringing another palette in to the mix ;) I've heard very good reviews! Just strange that they've added a small lipgloss instead of a primer potion... It was a little God-send last time.
Ideally, I would have loved the Michael Buble Christmas CD before Christmas, so I could listen to it and get in the mood, but I would settle getting it for Christmas!! I love his voice, especially on the clips of the Christmas CD I've heard :) You can buy it here or on iTunes, or in lots of music shops of course!

This beautiful bag! OK so it's a copy, and I'm not quite sure what of (I've seen celebrities with them, but to be honest I've heard the copies are ace, so not too bothered about the real version when the copy is £30!). You can buy them here and other blogger's, such as Zoella and Sprinkle of Glitter, have raved about and love them :)
The Revlon 9427U Touch Control Mirror. I have needed a new make-up mirror for forever now, and quite a few of my friends have this one. It looks amazing, and I just love the fact there is the light around the mirror, as when I'm up at 7am, and Kane is still in bed, he doesn't like me turning the 'big light' on as it wakes him up (of course!) so this is perfect. It's also good for when I'm at home as the natural light in my room is atrocious, and even the artificial light isn't at a good angle. You can get it on Amazon here and it costs around £26.67.
Anything from this website really. I love it! The clothes are appropriate for girls of the larger size, and are just beautiful. Here are a few of my favourites....
This dress is only £19.75! How amazing is that. Perfect LBD for the Winter, team with a black cardigan and some tights and you're away!
I really like this jumper. I don't know why, I can't put my finger on it, but I just really like it. Plus it's £18.75....
How snug does that jumper look?! And a steal at £17.99, when it originally RRP at £24.75.

How beautiful is this!? I love that it's not tight fitted, but has the gorgeous detail on the shoulder. Amazing. £24.75!
I LOVE this aviator Jacket, it looks so snug and warm!! And just something a bit different... and only £25.73 when it originally RRP at £36.75! I may have to treat myself to this one at some point in the future...
And finally... House Season Three! Me and Kane are hooked on House, and finished Season 2 in a weird order (we were very confused and only realised when it came to the final episode... Heartbroken is not the word). I love Hugh Laurie and I love medical dramas, so this is my perfect show! Desperate to watch it!! You can buy it here at £13.97.

So my wishlist is not too long, or too expensive (although some things aren't even in the shops yet!) and I definitely don't expect any of them, but it's nice to just compile a little list and see what things you can buy yourself in the future as a treat for yourself.

Hope your having a lovely Christmas so far!!
Lots of Love,

Welcome Baby Isla!

Hey everyone!

So I have some exciting news to share with you all! My absolutely gorgeous niece, Isla (said eye-lah) was born at 2:08am on Saturday morning! A reason why I've not been on here for a while.

My sister was so strong, and had an amazing birth, and we got to go meet Isla Mae Florence Gregson when she was less than an hour old!!!
That night I had only 5 hours sleep, so I'm still very tired as I've not caught up yet. Anyway, less about me, more about Isla!!
She weighed 5lb and 15 ounces, so is an exceptionally tiny baby. She was very cold so my sister and niece didn't get to go home until yesterday.

Unfortunately, today they have been back in hospital as Isla turned purple and was shivering. She was exceptionally low body temperature and low blood sugars. She wasn't even crying she was that tired and had no energy, and went down to 5lb 10ounces. She had to be put in to an incubator and hooked up to lots of machines, and my sister has to stay with her at the hospital for the next few days until she is better. Thankfully, her temperature has raised and her blood sugar is perfect again. It's just maintaining it now...

So needless to say, I'm exhausted from all the emotional stress, and on top of that I have an academic poster due in on Friday, I am still volunteering in school once a week, next Monday and Tuesday I have my visit days to my new school, my printer broke so I've had to buy a new one, I'm now poor for Christmas, it's Kane's birthday on Thursday, and my dissertation is due in in January. Phew!!

So everybody please give your thoughts and prayers to Isla to get better,
Lots of Love,
Fat Girl

Haul!

Hey everyone :)

OK so I went in to town today, I only went for a piece of A1 card, and (of course) I ended up spending a lot more.... Oops!

So first I went to Boots (always dangerous...). I love both Boots and Superdrug, I did prefer Superdrug for a long time, but I love that Boots (in Lancaster anyway) have a wider range of products, and I get my Boots advantage points. I know there is a Superdrug Beauty Card but I've not even looked at that yet....
From Boots I bought these things:
So in the left hand picture, you can see I found the '3 for 2' offer... How can you resist an offer like that!? It's crazy. So first I picked up the Lee Stafford Argan Oil from MoRocco. It says - Nourishing Miracle Oil with Pro-Argan complex. A light weight oil treatment for all hair types. Enriches and nurtures natural shine for the smoothest, silkiest, healthiest hair yet! So I was sold just from the description. That's the little bottle (and the orange box behind it) on the right hand side.
Next is also from the Lee Stafford collection, it's called 'i HaTE my HAiR the DaY it's waShed' and it says that This problem solver will DeFluFF, DeflyAWAY, DeFRiZZzzz. So the description is definitely exciting (if not for all the capitals and lower case... I feel like my 13 year old self texting again). That's the bright pink bottle in the middle. Needless to say after buying those two products I desperately wanted to rush home and wash my hair... I didn't as I only did it last night and I believe you should wash it AT LEAST only every other day (Sometimes I can last around 4 days without washing it, not because I'm gross but I guess my hair isn't naturally greasy).
Next I bought the James Brown London - Photo Fabulous Dry Shampoo which it says Gives a just washed look and feel 'Always be camera ready'. So I really needed dry shampoo, and I was going to get the Lee Stafford one for dark hair, but I figured I would branch out from that range and try this one, as I'm not really adventurous with my hair products, so figured why not! Now all I want is for my hair/fringe to be slightly greasy... Can't win either way!
I also picked up this Denman Comb, I've got MEGA long hair, which I very rarely brush (I haven't even brushed it today) but I ran this comb through my hair and it didn't hurt at all! I love it, and it was only £2.80 or something close....

Then I went to pick up my piece of A1 card, and I got it in an almost navy blue. I had to them go get accessories from Ryman's stationary shop! This is where I saw these two beauties!! I cannot believe that that little unicorn is a rubber. It's far too pretty to be a rubber, and it's actually minute, I currently have it sat on top of he mushroom... The mushroom is a rubber on top (the pink bit) and a pencil sharpener on the bottom (the stalk of the shroom...) I love little silly bits like this, especially when going in to school, because the kids love it! Also, they were only 99p each... Bargain!

Anyway, that's my mini haul of the day. Let me know if you want any reviews on the products, and if you have any requests for blogs!
Lots of love,
Fat Girl

Feeling Good :)

Hi everyone :)

So today I'm just doing a little post on feeling good!!

Today I am feeling GOOD! This is because I woke up and I was pretty much a shambles. I had no organisation in my life (which I HATE) and I just had to get myself sorted. As you know, I have a ton of work, and I have a placement to think about in January, and applying for jobs... All along with the money worries that come along with Christmas which is looming! Oh, and the fact that my niece is due TOMORROW! I'm very excited, but slightly nervous for that little arrival....
Anyway I've gone completely off topic there. I was saying how much I had to do... hmmm... anyway I came home from a full Reading Conference day on Phonics (head mashing I tell you, but extremely interesting), and I just needed to get my life and my head back on track.
So I started by roughly cleaning my room. It's a nightmare to keep my room tidy when I live with a messy boy, but I can't work well when everything is a complete mess. Then I got changed in to my PJ's, scraped my hair back in to a pony tail, and changed my contacts for my glasses. That's when you know I mean business!
Then I got down to work. I do have my dissertation due in in January, but, surprisingly, there are other more important and pressing things on my mind. Because I've somehow managed to do 6000/10000 words already for my dissertation, that can just hold for a while. I have a poster due in on the 9th December, for which I have to talk about Management and Leadership in the Early Years. Also, I have to start writing my letter of application (how scary is that, me with an actual job!!).
So first, I found it hard to get in to step, so I did a spider diagram of all the things I would want to include in my letter of application. I thought I've done nothing, but I've done so much!! I can't actually fit it all in, so I finished that, and emailed my tutor asking for some help. By then I felt like I'd accomplished quite a lot. But oh no, it's only the beginning!
Then, I had to get on with this poster. I am fully passionate about Philosophy For Children, so both my dissertation and poster are based upon it. I was finding it hard to come up with inspiration, so I emailed both of my past tutors asking for some advice. Wow, I mean 3 emails and a spider diagram?! Work done, right?! Wrong!!!
Then, I sat down, and I looked at what I'd already done. This was it. I knew if I could get my action plan done for my poster, I'd be away. Once I'd started, I could not stop!! I found information after information, I found some sort of inspiration and motivation inside of me, and now I have done my action plan, and pretty much done 3/4 of the front of my poster. This is big news. Massive. Considering before today I'd done less than 1/4.

I AM SO FREAKING CHUFFED WITH MYSELF RIGHT NOW!

And as Michael Buble sings so beautifully.... And I'm feeling Gooooooooooood ;)

Just thought I'd share my happiness with you all, and hope it is infectious!
Lots of Love,

Soap and Glory Mini-Review :)

Hi everyone!

So just thought I'd do a bit of a mini review on two pieces of the new soap and glory cosmetics range that has come out.

My first piece I saw, and immediately desperately wanted, was the Under Eye Trick and Treatment. I struggle badly with bags under my eyes (mostly because I'm constantly REALLY tired) so I was SO excited to try it. I read a few reviews, and a few were disappointing, but most were extremely upbeat and said it was a fabulous product, so the next day I sauntered out and bought it (with my Boots Advantage points too, which was even more sweet!).

I was so excited to try it the next morning, but was slightly disappointed to see that it didn't seem to really work. It made the area under my eye very sparkly but didn't seem to lighten up the dark bags. I figured it may work better once I'd put some foundation on... But it didn't. Now, I've used it twice, and I'm gonna research some YouTube videos now and see if anyone has tops to make it work, and I'll re-review. But at the moment I'm sooo disappointed. I was desperate for it to work, but it hasn't so far :(

I also bought the Foundation with primer also in it. I love it!! It's a medium coverage, so it's nice for when I just fancy a lighter, more natural look, and with the built-in primer it stays on all day :) I love it a lot, which is quite a high recommendation from me considering I find it very difficult to find a good foundation (especially one from a drugstore).

I got mine in the shade 'A Good Light'.

Hope you enjoyed!

Thank You.

Hey everyone :)

With living in England, we don't celebrate Thanksgiving, but I figured it would be a great time to tell everyone all the things I am thankful for, because, although I moan all the time, I am truly thankful for my life.
The first thing I am thankful for is my family. I have the world's most supportive, caring and amazing family I could ever ask for. My Mum and Sister are like two of my best friends, and my Dad too actually! My Mum and Dad never make me need anything, but I am definitely not spoilt. My sister is due to have her baby on the 30th November (so in 6 days!!) and I am so thankful that I am close to her, and will get to see her family grow and evolve, and be involved in my niece's life.
Next, I am so thankful for my boyfriend. Sounds lame I know, and some of you will be thinking 'Uh what a lamo' but I don't really care. Although we have our good times and bad times, he is the person that is always there for me, will make me laugh when I'm feeling low, and will humble me if needed. This song reminds me of us:

Next, I am massively grateful for my friends. I don't have a huge amount, but I am perfectly happy with the few that I have, because I know they truly are my friends, and will do anything for me. I know I can always talk to anyone of them, and they will always give me true advice.
I am also eternally grateful for the all the opportunities I have been given in my life. I try to be a proactive person, but sometimes the opportunities land in your lap, and it's always your decision whether to take them. I always try and fulfill all my potential, and know that I will regret not taking the opportunities later in life.

What are you thankful for? Love? Kindness? Family?
Lots of Love,

How To - Subscribe :)

Hey everyone :)

So I know a lot of my friends (I say a lot, I mean one or two) were wondering how to subscribe to my blog, and I thought if anyone else was having the same trouble, this would be an extremely useful post!

So, first step is to go to Google, then type in 'blogspot'. This is what your screen may come up like, or something like it:
Sorry it's not the best quality as I just took it from my iPhone! As you can (almost) see, you then type on the link that is titled 'Blogger: Create your free Blog'.

It should come up something like this:
If you already have an account for Google, or YouTube, then you can enter that in the 'Sign In' section, but if not, at the very top right hand corner, it says 'Sign up for a new Google Account'. It's really simple to follow the steps :)

Then, once you have created your account and signed in, my web URL is:

So you can either click on that link, or type it in the URL bar at the top.
It should come up looking like this:
And you can follow by clicking at the top left hand side, just to the right of the search bar 'Follow'.

If I was clever, I could circle the words to make it easier for you, but unfortunately, I am not that technologically advanced. Sad hey!

Anyway, I hope this works for you, and if it does then Subscribe! If it doesn't then let me know what is wrong as soon as possible so I can get it sorted :)

Up-to-date!

Hi everyone :)

How are you? Good :) I'm.... OK. Not feeling 100% today, I have so much to do and all I want to do is snuggle in bed and watch films (Guess which one is winning now?! I'm watching March of the Penguins). If you have read my blog previously, you will know I am currently writing a 10,000 word dissertation. I am also doing a poster, and an awful lot of research in school. And I work on Saturdays and Sundays. I also do everything in my house. I do all the washing, ironing, cleaning, cooking and tidying. So needless to say, I am one busy (and exceptionally tired) lady.

I've had a fabulous weekend, we've booked a holiday for when we graduate to Marmaris in Turkey, went to see the new Twilight film Breaking Dawn (Always have, and always will be: TEAM EDWARD!) and it was absolutely amazing. We also went to the Christmas markets in Manchester. They were fabulous, but I must say the one we went to was a lot smaller than I anticipated! There was an amazing, massive Santa above the market, almost, here is a picture:
I've had a difficult week with food, on Wednesday my sister invited me out for lunch and we ended up going to the Pizza Hut buffet, which wasn't the most healthy option. I've not had Pizza Hut in an awful long time, so I must say, I did thoroughly enjoy it! Then Friday night we went to Harvester for tea. Ah. Very difficult to try and stay calm! I love Harvester. I ended up getting 'The Original Combo' which is 1/4 of a spit-roast chicken and a few ribs, only because I LOVE ribs, and never have the opportunity to have them! So I've got a feeling this week may be a weight gain. I'm not best pleased, but I did really enjoy the food I ate, and it was well deserved and worth it.

I have a huge incentive now to lose weight, with the holiday being booked. I think it works out at 217 days until we leave, so I'm hoping to have at least lost 3 stone by then. I don't think I'm ever going to be bikini body ready, but I don't mind wearing swimsuits, as I don't need a tanned stomach as I never show it off ha!

Anyway, this next week I'm going to do some more recipe posts, a few fall fashion posts, and bits and bobs, so watch this space!
Lots of Love,
Fat Girl

Flash-chat :)

Hey everyone!

Just a short blog to say Hi! I thought I'd let you know how I got on at Slimming World....

I lost 3 pounds! Yay :) I'm so chuffed. I couldn't believe it when I stepped on the scales! I'm on top of the world.

Also, when you train to be a teacher, in your last year of your training, you have to pass 3 TDA tests, which are Numeracy, Literacy and ICT. For the first 3 Wednesdays in November, I passed my ICT in the first week, passed my Literacy last week and can't believe that I actually passed Numeracy this week! So another thing to feel on top of the world about! It's something I can feel less stressed about.

I have a 10,00 word dissertation due in in January and a poster due in in December still, and a placement in January that I'm stressing about, so it is very easy to fall behind on my posts, because there's so much to think about!

I just thought I'd do this quick little blog post to say I'm not leaving you, I'm still here, and I will be blogging lots in the next couple of weeks, just not every day.

I hope everyone is well, and would LOVE some ideas on what kinda blog posts you want me to do!

Blog Identity Crisis!!!

Hi everyone :)

So, because I really want this blog to do well - not that I'm aiming to get lots of followers or anything like that, but just be pleasant for the people who do read it - I read a lot of articles and blogs on 'How to write a good blog'. The first thing that most of them would say is "Find a niche, something that hasn't been written about before, and write about that". I got this stuck in my head, and have been worrying an awful lot.

Then, I figured, you know what, I write this blog for myself mainly, and if people want to read it that's amazing, and I really appreciate it, but I just want to write about what I fancy writing about!

I am not, by any stretch of the imagination, a wizz on make-up, I have a small collection, and probably look like either a drag queen or clown most of the time, but I thoroughly love reading about make-up, using it, and talking about it. So I figured... I'm going to write about make-up!

But then I thought... But I LOVE fashion, and my fashion posts have got down well extremely well. I'm a bigger girl, so I like writing about something a bit different, and exploring fashion for the non-stick insects. So you know what else I figured... I'm going to write about fashion too!

Oh but then I thought... my blog is called 'Diary of a Fat Girl', and I love eating (hence me being fat) and I LOVE food, cooking it and eating it. I love reading about food, and watching videos and reading blogs on how to bake... So I finally figured, I'm going to write about food too!

So I realise, that although these people advise me to write a blog about one specific subject, I don't really want to. I enjoy far too many things in life to focus on just one thing. I know a lot of people don't want to hear about my meal with my boyfriend, but I LOVE writing about it, and I would much rather write about something I love than something I may possibly know little about and have little enthusiasm for!

I may also even veer off of those 3 topics too! Maybe to talk about some of these things...
Books...
TV programmes...
Dreams...

Things that make me laugh...
Dogs...
Things I believe in...

And so much more. So if you enjoy reading my blog, please carry on, and maybe even subscribe (it would make my day...).

Lots of Love,
Fat Girl

Inspiration*

Hi everyone :)

So I know I've done a few posts on inspiration, but I thought I'd do one on people that specifically inspired me to get in to blogging. I came across the beauty community first on YouTube, by watched a girl called Imogen. I'm just absolutely stunned by how beautiful she is and how she is a pro at hair and make up.

THIS is her YouTube site.
THIS is her blog site.
Her twitter is: @ImogenFoxyLocks
How beautiful is she?! She is also an inspirational business woman, as she runs the store Foxy Locks Extensions, which you can find here :) Apparently the extensions are amazing, and I know the eyelashes are fabulous.

I pretty much just watched Imogen for an awful long while, actually until I'd watched all of her videos! Then I found Blair Fowler. Oh Blair Fowler. This girl has become an OBSESSION of mine for a long time now.
THIS is her beauty YouTube site.
THIS is her vlog YouTube site.
THIS is her blog website which she shares with her sister (who I will talk about later!).
THIS is her shop which her and her sister also run, and it's amazing.
Her twitter is: @juicystar007

There are so many reasons why I love Blair Fowler. I love everything about the American lifestyle, and I think this girl really embodies it in the way I like. She is a family girl, who works hard, has fun, rasies money for charities and is always happy. It is a given, she speaks extremely fast, and if I'm completely honest, I got annoyed by her first YouTube video that I watched (Eeek! I'm sorry Blair!) BUT I have grown to love her and her ways. It didn't take me long either! Maybe about 3 minutes. She's amazing, and is definitely the real life wonder woman! I could go on all day about her but I guess I should move on haha!

Next is Elle Fowler :) This is Blair's sister. Blair is only 18, whereas Elle is more my age at 23, yet I didn't connect to her as well at first. She is extremely soft spoken, and I almost saw her as a bit too soft. But I have definitely grown to love her a lot, I think she is the most nice, genuine, down to earth person, and isn't afraid to say silly things :) I love videos where she is just acting silly (See a video that made me laugh out loud A LOT where she is singing with her cat here) and I just love her.

THIS is her beauty YouTube site.
THIS is her vlog YouTube site.
THIS is her blog website with Blair!
THIS is her shop which she shares with Blair also :)
Her twitter is: @ellefowler

They are both inspirational business women as well, not only with running their amazingly successful shop, but Elle also did a degree in Law! How amazingly inspirational is that.

Next is Sarah Walker. She is the girl I found next, and I love her videos. She does have a blog, but I must be honest and say I haven't read it as I didn't know until now! She has been away from videos for a while due to personal circumstances, but I really like her, but I just can't put my finger on why!! I think she's just a lovely person, extremely pretty and very genuine.

THIS is her beauty YouTube site.
THIS is her vlog YouTube site.
THIS is her blog.
Her twitter is: @SWalkerMakeup

Next up are two girls I found very recently. They seem to be extremely close friends, and I feel like they're my friends or something because I love them so much (Oh dear did I admit too much?!)
First up is Zoe. She is a small, petit brunette who inspired me to ombre/dip dye my hair.

THIS is her YouTube site.
THIS is her blog, which is THE most amazing blog ever. It's even won awards!! Oooooh.
Her twitter is: @ZozeeBo
She is just so beautiful, and really was a major inspiration in to me blogging. I think she's just fabulous. She is amazing on her know-how of make up and hair stuff, and also her style. She can wear almost anything and she looks AMAZING.

Next is Louise! Aloha YouTuberinos! She makes me laugh sooooo much, I chuckle at her voice alone because I know she is going to be saying something funny! My sister is due to have a baby, and she shows Baby Glitter, who is absolutely gorgeous, an awful lot, and I absolutely adore it, and her!

THIS is her YouTube site.
THIS is her blog!
Her twitter is: @Sprinkleofglitr
Her voice reminds me of the comedienne Miranda Heart. I love her so much, and she makes me laugh which is just ace. She is also a beautiful person, and you can tell she is so genuine and I really REALLY want to be her friend. Like really bad.

So I hope you've enjoyed reading about my inspirations, and I hope enjoy reading their blogs and watching their videos as much as I did!!

Lots of Love,
Fat Girl
