Fall Fashion No 1

So I thought I would do some fall fashion ideas for the larger lady, as many of the trends are set for skinny girls (pfft...) and it is difficult to be large and trendy a lot of the time! So I know the colours crimson and mustard are in this fall, so I'll try and incorporate these colours in to my ideas, also the jewel themed colours.

My first outfit is based on the earthy colours that always remind me of fall. This outfit is perfect for college or university, or for after school or on the weekend when your going shopping or meeting up with some friends:
This top is £15 from River Island. It keeps in with some of the summer trends, such as collars and sheer blouses. If you find high necklines are difficult for you (as many do with a large bust) a top like this works just as well, as it has a lower neckline:
This one is more expensive at £29.99 from H&M but has long sleeves, and is extremely versatile.

The next bit of the outfit is the scarf, I love scarves in fall and winter, I love the added accessory that also keeps you warm! I love this one from H&M:
It's only £7.99 and its lovely and chunky which balances out the femininity of the blouse.

Next is the cardigan. I really want a chunky cardigan this fall, they're sort of timeless classics that you will end up wearing practically every day! I really like this almost pink one from River Island:

This is a mix of both the feminine and chunky style, tying together the scarf and blouse well. Also, having a long cardigan over a shorter blouse always makes me feel happy, as I know my (big) bum is covered, and I don't have to worry about jeans sliding down accidentally, and I can wrap it round me when freezing cold, even at my large size! I would suggest maybe getting a cardigan like this in a size or 2 bigger so it really catches that 'boyfriend' cardigan trend.

I would definitely team this with a nice pair of jeans, some bigger people can still get away with skinny style jeans, as long as they fit correctly, and these are gorgeous :
They're from Matalan at an extremely reasonable £20. If you can't pull of the skinny jeans style, like myself, these boot cut jeans are perfect, and definitely in trend for this fall:

These are also from Matalan, at an even more reasonable £10! I love my Matalan jeans :)

Finally, for the shoes I've picked these from River Island. They tie in the crimson trend for this fall, and the increasing brogue trend:
They give a gorgeous pop of colour to the outfit and show that, even though the outfit is of earthy colours, that you are still in with current trends.

The next outfit I'm going to show you the pictures of altogether.

This outfit I love because it's something completely different! The mustard dress is from River Island, coming in at £45, which is quite steep, but it is so versatile, can run in to winter and is the perfect colour! It also will look fabulous on any person who is of the larger variety, as it pinches you in at the waist and flows out over the hips and stomach! The tights are also from River Island, coming in at £9. These are also extremely versatile. The shoes are, again, from River Island, and are leather Chelsea Boots. The short booties are completely in this season, and these are made out of real leather, with a cute buckle. They are priced at £65. And last but not least was this gorgeous scarf I had to fit in. Some people might leave this out and opt for a gold necklace and some gold accessories instead, but I thought it was so quirky and different! It's £25, and also from River Island. I always find a scarf breaks up the body, instead of having solid body in an outfit on show, the scarf breaks it up in to smaller sections.

This next outfit is for going out, for maybe a night out on the town, or for a nice meal with your friends, or a date!

The dress is from ASOS Curve range, which is specifically for sizes 20 up to size 26. I like that it is nice and floaty, but still with some detail to make the dress almost fitted, and costs £30. The tights are from River Island at £10, and they were extremely in last season, and I definitely see them making a comeback in the fall. I like how they look like socks, but have that extra detail, and are tights so will keep you warm on a night out. The shoes are beautiful from Linzi shoes (I'll link all the websites later) and, although they look high, the wedge at the front evens the shoe out. I love ankle boots, and with tights they look more acceptable on larger girls, and they don't cut you off at the wrong part of your leg. They cost £30. I've then added a vintage looking ring, necklace and bracelet from the Bohm Bohm Vintage Vixen Collection from Treasure Box online. The ring costs £17.50, the necklace costs £32.50 and the disk bracelet costs £30.

Anyway, I hope you have enjoyed todays fall fashions post! If there are any tips to help me, or any comments on whether you like or dislike the outfits! I'm going to start posting food diaries from my days also to give you a view of what I'm eating.
Lots of Love,

I apologise! And McDonald's sends me a sign...

Hey everyone,

So sorry I've been M.I.A. (you know I've just found out that M.I.A. stands for Missing In Action?!) for a few days, I had family up at the weekend and ended up going up to Lancaster for a few days before the weekend as my boyfriend had a big interview for a job at T-Mobile (He found out today he got it, yay!) so I've been so busy.

I am aware that on Friday I was supposed to do a big update on how well I did that week with my weight but that was the day we ended up going to Lancaster! I still managed to weigh myself in the morning and the big weigh in came to.......
A Loss of 1 pound.
OK, so I was a bit disappointed I admit, but then when I thought back I did realise I could have definitely done better, it wasn't my best week. The weekend was difficult, on the Saturday night we went to Pizza Express, one of the family's favorite restaurants, but I was so proud of myself when I ordered a salad. And I had no pudding. WOW.

On the Sunday though we went to Blackpool Pleasure Beach... and it all went downhill from there. I had chips for lunch, some doughnuts with sugar, and a chicken fried rice with sweet and sour sauce for tea. Yikes.

But, as they say, onwards and upwards. I'm still on my no fizzy pop, and literally went for a sip of my boyfriends lucozade yesterday, had it to my lips and pulled it away when I remembered! I've found it quite difficult when eating out, ending up having fruit juice which is quite expensive for a small glass. I found in McDonalds they do still Fanta, which is rather useful! And I know you're thinking, hmmmm what is she doing in McDonalds, but I swear I got a sign from them. We went and got drive-thru, I ordered some of the mozzarella sticks (and I was desperate to get a McFlurry but my boyfriend said no...thankfully) and other people ordered other stuf... Then when we got home, my mozzarella sticks weren't in the bag! First, I was so upset, everyone else had their food but not me! But then I realised it was a blessing in disguise.

Anyway, I best be off, as I'm sure your bored of reading my ramblings!

Lots of Love,

No fizzy pop challenge.

Yesterday I decided I was going to give up one of my main loves... fizzy pop! I absolutely adore diet coke, lemonade, irn bru, you name it, I love it! But my boyfriend's brother gave it up, and after 2 weeks his skin has really cleared up and he has lost some weight. Don't get me wrong, I'm only doing it for a month, and I'll see how I get on and then I aim to just have a glass or two for a treat on a special occasion. My trusty friend Wikipedia has told me that fizzy pop can lead to obesity, diabetes and low nutrient levels, and considering I'm already obese, I'm in fear of getting diabetes (my Mum has it) and I probably suffer from low nutrient levels, I figure I'm a sucker for drinking it. Fizzy pop has also been linked to dental decay (one can of full-fat coca-cola has 8 tea spoons of sugar in it!!), Hypokalemia (low potassium levels), and even a low bone density, due to the phosphoric acid in some fizzy pop replacing some of the calcium in your bones. Scary stuff.

So far.. after starting the challenge 5 hours ago (I woke up at 11.30am) I've been  OK, I've only had orange cordial. But I doubt this week is going to phase me too much, it's going to be mainly when I go out for a few drinks, and I'll pretty much have to drink wine, when I go out for meals, and if I'm not drinking, I'll have to drink cordial, and when I go to work, I'll just have to get a bottle of water (until I hopefully get my Water Bobble for my birthday!).

I'm so excited for my tea (sad I know) but one of our staple foods when at university, is chicken, wrapped in bacon, with BBQ sauce over the top and a bit of grated cheese on! It's absolutely amazing. I'm craving the BBQ sauce so bad. OK so I know it's probably the most healthy meal, but it was that, or burgers, or pizza.... so can I be commended for choosing the (sort of) most healthy option?! No?! OK, well I don't mind because it will taste so good!!

Not sure whether we are going home Thursday night or Friday afternoon yet, so depending on when I go home is depending upon when I weigh myself and let you know the (dreaded) results!

Keep smiling

Temptations...

It's not fair when you're trying to be good and then along pops a shop with a display that looks like this...

I did find it very hard to just order my jacket potato with tuna and cheese and not add on "And one of those GIANT eclairs" because I am most definitely a sucker for fresh cream. *licks lips at thought*

OK so I know it's no good me moaning at you, as that is not going to be much fun to read at all.

Top tips for today:
- Drink lots of cordial. OK so I know it should say water, but I genuinely dislike the taste of it. If people told me that it was really healthy to drink beer, I wouldn't drink it because it tastes gross, and I am like this with water. I LOVE cordial, and I always get the 'No Added Sugar' option (except with when I am maybe treating myself with ribena or vimto... just not the same!) but I must admit... I like my cordial strong. At one point in the distant past, I manage to ween myself off of cordial, and I'd either have just a drop or water, but I'm back to where I've begun now. Hopefully, my boyfriend is going to get me a Water Bobble for my birthday (which is in 26 days!!) and I will fall in love with water all over again!

- Take your time when eating. Recently, this has really helped me with my portion sizes. At uni, our plates are that big you can't even fit them in our microwave (it's actually quite ridiculous) so what would be a normal size meal, looks teeny, and even a large meal still looks small. Today, I cooked homemade lasagna for tea, with a few oven chips. My boyfriend literally rushed through his meal as if I'd never fed him before, and when he'd finished, I still had over half of my meal left. OK so they were probably big portions, but I ended up eating around 2/3rds of mine at the most, and felt proud of myself that I didn't feel the need to eat the rest just because it was there, or I had mindlessly shoveled it in my mouth without even thinking about it. I know they say put your knife and fork down in between each mouthful, but this is quite difficult when your used to eating quickly and obsessed with the food on your plate. So instead, just put it down every 3 mouthfuls, and don't take as big mouthfuls. I know you've probably heard all this before, but it really does help.

-You will fall off the bandwagon. None of us are perfect, and most of us definitely have those days when you think "All I want to eat is chocolate", but sometimes you need a chocolate day. Or a crisp day. I don't think I will ever be able to lose weight if I decide that I can never have a binge, the very thought would send me down to the corner shop to buy another bar of chocolate! But what you need to do is, not beat yourself up about it. It's so simple, I know (because I've done it) you'll have that sneaky bar (or 2) of chocolate and you'll just think "oh sod it, I've ruined it now" and go absolutely crazy. The good news is.... you haven't!! Everyone needs a bar of chocolate and a packet of crisps every now and then, don't beat yourself up about it.

Anyway, I'm going to weigh myself on Friday or Saturday morning (depending upon when I leave Lancaster) and I will let you know how my modest diet has gone on this week!

Smile every day,
Lots of Love,
Fat Girl

First day of the rest of my life...

So... as anyone who has ever dieted before (and I definitely come in this category) this phrase is used practically every Monday, after a weekend of binging and then preparing ones self to start their new 'diet'...

Tomorrow is the first day of the rest of my life.

Of course I have to wait until tomorrow as it's Monday and thats only logical...
I am 21 years old, and I currently weigh 17 stone 10 pounds. And that is the heaviest I have ever weighed. In my entire life.
So... your wondering, what made me decide that it was time to change my life forever? Well, a few things finally got the ball moving really...

1) I went to the nurse and she said that I'd have to have a higher dosage of medicine because of my size. Now that really did scare me. To have to have MORE medication because of my size... Now, what if I was in an accident and they only brought the right dosage for a normal person to revive me and that wasn't enough? Like I said, scary.

2) My family are coming up to Blackpool on the bank holiday, and we are all going to Blackpool Pleasure Beach. I am having to seriously consider going on the website to look at their weight restrictions. I say seriously consider because I can't decide whether I'd rather miss out on the rides and just walk around but not have to face the embarrassment of knowing I am too heavy to go on the rides, OR go on the website and find out I am too heavy and cry. AND still miss out on the rides OR don't look at the website, claim ignorance, get an all day pass, sit down on a ride and find out the stupid thing won't go over my stomach. OK so that last one really isn't an option but... It's so difficult.

3) When my boyfriend says he needs me to lose weight for health reasons. OK so I know it is nice to have a boyfriend say he loves you just the way you are and all that jazz, which he does, but when he says he needs me to lose weight for health reasons, that's quite scary. To be perfectly honest I'd rather him tell me he wants me to lose weight because I don't look as good, because at least then it's not life threatening! (He might get beat up though).

5) When you read a book about a 'fat' girl who really wants to lose weight and feels disgusting... And they weigh a considerable amount less than you. I read a book recently where the 'fat' girl on show was a size 16. I would KILL to be a size 16.

4)When you are the largest person you know of all your friends... Even those who USED to be fat, much much bigger than you, but now they have lost weight and are skinny. If everyone else can do it, why can't I?

So... Today is the beginning of a new me. As I said before, I weigh 17 stones 10 pounds and I am going to be blogging about my experience and adventure (ha, I call it that so it doesn't sound so scary) and if I actually manage to lose any weight.

And it all starts from tomorrow.... Just after I've eaten this last chocolate ;)
